Top 100 Classic Movies Of All Time – I am a movie watcher. I will watch my favorite movies 2, 3, 4 … up to 108 times. Yes, that would be Dirty Dancing which I watched 108+ times. It’s a little thing called obsession when it comes to that movie. Rounding out my top 5 favorite movies are: Enough, Shawshank Redemption, Sixteen Candles – and most recently…ARGO….

However, I like the movies for a number of reasons. I love Chick Flicks for the entertainment value and cute dudes. I love action movies for the music and special effects. Dramas are perfect for those moments when I really want to get into a good story. I watch so many movies, sometimes I think I’ve seen every movie out there…and then I find a list tucked into an old journal, with a torn cover, from June 17, 1998.

Reddit user ReelStats felt the same pain. In April, they made a list of the 250 best movies based on average ratings from 13 different websites. This list was cool, but 13 didn’t seem broad enough as parameters to find the best movies.

Well, they didn’t think so either, and that’s why they amped up their search using all the following sites… Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, IMDb, Letterboxd, TMDb, Trakt, JustWatch, Blu-Ray, FilmAffinity, Douban, Naver, MUBI and Critics Choice, TSPDT, iCheckMovies, MoviesLens, RateYourMusic, Criticker, PolishFilmweb, RussianKinopoisk, Czech-SlovakCSFD, DutchMoviemeter and FrenchSenscritique.

These made the data collection feel more global and gave a greater scope to how people view cinema.
